Beginners Guide To Getting Fit!

Personal Trainer

1) Get Educated on Fitness and Nutrition: Set goals and stick to them! I can’t stress enough how important it is to set goals. You will honestly be more likely to follow through with this new lifestyle if you set goals and WRITE THEM DOWN! Be very specific with them. If you are looking to lose weight educate yourself on a program designed to lose weight, you’re not going to know how to eat right and do the right types of exercise for your body if no one has ever told you. A great way to do this is to hire a personal trainer, make sure they have the proper education. Ask them what certifications they have. Good certifications are I.S.S.A, N.S.C.A. A.C.E., or a B.S. In Exercise Science.

Get yourself educated on eating healthy and put those habits into your everyday life. 80% of your fitness goals come from dieting. Identify the bad habits that got you to this point, know this isn’t a diet but a LIFESTYLE change. Be realistic! It’s not going to happen overnight, but small changes lead to bigger changes, which lead to losing the weight.

2) Find an activity that you like to do, and do it all the time: Finding an activity that you enjoy will make getting fit that much easier, and you will be more likely to stick with it. If you like to run! Great do that. If you like to play basketball do that! Find something that will motivate you to keep on going, and not give up. Consistency is a big part of helping achieving your goals.
